#3: The blob
In the Devil in the Dark episode from the original series, the USS Enterprise answers a distress call at a mining colony, only to discover a blob-ish looking creature that is apparently responsible for the deaths of dozens of miners. Spock mind melds with the “blob” and learns that it is actually a mother who does not desire to kill, but only protect her young. The following clip shows the initial short lived mind meld and the creature’s subsequent message of “No Kill I.”
