#4: Captain Picard and Sarek
In The Next Generation episode Sarek, Spock’s father, is escorted by Captain Picard to a negotiation with another race that insists they will only speak with Sarek. However, Sarek is beset with a rare disease that impedes his ability to control his emotions. After extensive convincing, Sarek finally admits he may suffer from this affliction, and it is decided that he will mind meld with Picard so as to gain Picard’s emotional control. It’s not that simple, though, through the mind meld, the two become one, meaning that while Sarek gains some control from Picard, Picard is subjected to Sarek’s intense emotions, including his deep love for Spock.
