#5: The Voyage Home
The Voyage Home is the fourth Star Trek motion picture, and relates the story of an alien probe that comes to Earth after its communication with our whales is interrupted. Once here, it continues seek out the whales, but its transmission is tearing the Earth a part. Knowing that the probe will not find the whales and may possibly become hostile when it realizes the whales have gone extinct, the USS Enterprise core crew decide to go back in time to bring two whales to the future. They choose two whales that are about to be released into the wild, one of which is pregnant. This they learned from Spock who mind melded with whales to let them know why the crew desired that they accompany them back.
