#10: J. J. Abrams’ Star Trek
In Abrams’ 2009 reboot Star Trek, an alternate reality is created when Spock unintentionally traverses time along with a hostile Romulan via a red matter induced black hole. Young Kirk becomes stranded on Delta Vega, which just so happens to be the same location upon which the elder Spock was stranded. When they meet, Kirk finds it difficult to believe what the elder Spock is telling him. So, Spock mind melds with him, sharing memories of their friendship from his past and possibly Kirk’s future. This video clip begins and ends with the mind meld scene from the movie, but uses clips from the original series in a music video format for the memories.
