2. Shane
It seems that all of the deaths that have been taking place in recent seasons really have set the bar high for shock value and gore. It was back in season 1, however, when Shane turned into a zombie and was killed by Rick and Carl which blew audiences away. This was early on but it proved that no one on Dead, even main characters, could be safe.
