Study figures out average penis size, so men don’t have to worry

A study has finally found out what many men are wondering. What is the average penis size? It turns out that it’s not that long.

British researchers published a study on average penis size called Am I Normal? in the journal BJU International on March 3. CBS News reports that they looked at 17 previously published studies with results from over 15,500 men, who were measured by other health professionals. They also included studies of men from Europe, Asia and Africa.

They discovered that the average length of an erect penis was 5.2 inches, while the average length of a flaccid penis was 3.6 millions.

These numbers should help “reassure the large majority of men that the size of their penis is in the normal range,” the researchers said, notes The Guardian. So, they created a graph of collated numbers to help any male patients who have “small penis anxiety.”

While many men are worried about their penis size, the study found that just 2.28 percent of men have an unusually small penis. That’s about the same percentage of those with an unusually large one.

In addition, the study found that penis size wasn’t linked to race. However, a majority of the study participants were of European or Middle Eastern descent.
