The dispute between the late Robin Williams’ widow and his children is heading to court after all. The two sides could not agree on what pieces of memorabilia they are entitled to.
News that a battle was brewing surfaced early last month. Susan Schneider, who married Williams in 2011, believes that the items within the Tiburon, California home they shared together are off-limits to the children and that they only items they should get are from Williams’ Napa home. However, Williams’ children from prior marriages - Zak, Selan and Cody - believe that they are entitled to items from Tiburon.
Scheider first filed papers in December, claiming that items were taken from the Tiburon home just days after Williams died. The children claimed in January that they were just inventorying the items.
Today, lawyers for the two sides will make an appearance before a San Francisco probate judge, reports The Associated Press.
The children said that Schneider was “adding insult to a terrible injury” in her attempt to change the trust. Schneider’s attorney argues that she is just trying to get a definition of what the trust’s terms are.
Williams died at the Tiburon home in August. His death was ruled a suicide.
