Michelle Obama gave an inspiring speech to black women at the Black Girls Rock! event in Newark, New Jersey this past weekend and looked stunning in Zac Posen while doing so.
The show will air on BET on April 5, featuring director Ava DuVernay, Jada Pinkett Smith and singer Erykah Badu among the honorees.
"No matter who you are, no matter where you come from, you are beautiful. I am so proud of you,” she told the crowd. “My husband, your president, is so proud of you. We have so much hope and dreams for you."
USA Today reports she stressed on the importance of education, suggesting everyone take that path to ensure success.
"I want every one of our black girls do to the same, and our black boys,” she continued.
Obama is, after all, the first African American First Lady of the United States.
"To all the young women here tonight, and all across the country, let me say those words again: Black girls rock!" she declared.
Singers like Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Rowland were among the performers of the night and Will Smith was a highlight, who presented his wife with the Star Power Award.
