John Mayer admits he’s been a little too open in the past about his love life and admits to having too big of an ego in his earlier days.
Remember when Mayer called his ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson “sexual napalm” in bed? Well he regrets that, of course, among other personal revelations he made.
During an appearance on the Today Show on Friday, the “Heartbreak Warfare” singer, who counts Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Love Hewitt among his exes, calls himself a “recovered ego addict.”
He admitted he quit Twitter and tried to curb dating around so much to try and salvage his reputation.
"I went, 'All right, dude, you did a couple interviews where you were out of touch and you were being a ham -- and you were basically break dancing into a nitroglycerin plant, right?'" he said, Fox News reports.
"The only way that I can be sure that I don't relapse is to admit that I constantly have this ego addiction -- every day,” he also said.
Mayer is now reportedly back together with Katy Perry.
