Jennette McCurdy's Canadian Netflix show won't be posted all at once

While Netflix has changed the way people watch television by posting entire seasons of new shows at once, the streaming service will test out a traditional format for Between. The Canadian drama, which stars Sam & Cat’s Jennette McCurdy, will have new episodes posted once a week.

The streaming service will let the show first air on Canada’s City network. The first episode will air on May 21 at 8 p.m. and will then be available around the world on Netflix just an hour later, notes The Hollywood Reporter. Each of the remaining five episodes will be posted in the same manner.

Between was first announced in October and is Netflix’s first Canadian co-production. It was created by Michael McGowan and centers on high schoolers who have to survive without adults around. McCurdy will play a pregnant teen.

John Cassar (The Kennedys) directed the first episode.

McCurdy is best known for her role on iCarly, which she reprised on Sam & Cat with Ariana Grande. However, there were rumors that the two clashed and the show was cancelled after one season. Since then, McCurdy also starred in an online series called What’s Next For Sarah?.
