Jay Z's TIDAL streaming service to relaunch today, Kanye West and Madonna show support

Just weeks after buying his own streaming service, Jay Z is ready to relaunch TIDAL and he has an incredibly array of musicians behind him.

Back in January, it was first reported that Jay Z had bought Scandinavian streaming company Aspiro for $56 million. That deal also included Aspiro’s Tidal service, which is the one the “Holy Grail” rapper decided to focus on first.

At the moment, Tidal.com features a countdown clock for 5 p.m., when Jay Z will hold an announcement about the service’s relaunch. According to Techcrunch, the event is likely to be used to confirm which artists will be available right away on the service. It’s possible that Kanye West, Madonna and Daft Punk are among the artists who will have music debut on TIDAL before Spotify, Beats and other services.

TIDAL.com also features a statement, promising that it is the first music streaming service “that combines the best High Fidelity sound quality, High Definition music videos and expertly Curated Editorial.” You can also register to try it for 30 days free, then pay $9.99/month to continue using it.

For $19.99/month, you get Lossless High Fidelity sound quality, which no other streaming service has. That tier also features HD music videos, notes Rolling Stone.

Several music stars have already shown that they plan on supporting TIDAL, tweeting with the hashtag #TIDALforALL.
