An Amtrak train bound for Philadelphia and New York collided with a truck Monday in North Carolina.

WPVI reported that the accident occurred around 12:15 p.m. when the train collided with a tractor-trailer on the tracks in Halifax and derailed.

Reuters noted that authorities said some minor injuries have been reported on the passenger train, which was carrying about 200 travelers at the time of the accident.

On impact, some passengers said that they felt a jerk and were thrown around a bit as the train came to a sudden stop. Ambulances were immediately dispatched to the scene to transfer the riders to buses.

One passerby caught video footage of the terrifying incident and shared it on Twitter.

The #80 Carolinian train was set to make a stop in Philadelphia around 7:00 p.m. and then head to New York City.

Amtrak has said that it was made aware of the incident and the reported injuries.

Emergency crews and law enforcement remain in the area and the incident is under investigation.
