Allison Janney joins Eva Green in Tim Burton's 'Miss Peregrine'

Tim Burton’s Big Eyes wasn’t the return to critics’ good graces that he hoped for, so he’s already moving on to his next project, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. The movie just gained Emmy winner Allison Janney.

Janney’s casting was first reported by Variety this week. She joins Samuel L. Jackson, Eva Green, Ella Purnell and Asa Butterfield in the film.

Butterfield (Hugo, Ender’s Game) will star as a teenager who is taken to an island, where he has to protect orphans with special powers. Green is set to play a guardian for the children, while Janney will play Butterfield’s psychiatrist.

Jane Goldman is writing the script, which is based on Ransom Riggs’ novel. It will hit theaters on March 4, 2016.

Janney has a whopping six Emmys on her resume, including four for The West Wing. She won two more in 2014, thanks to her guest role on Masters of Sex and her role on CBS’ Mom. Her next big screen appearance will be in Spy with Melissa McCarthy. She was also recently seen in The Duff and Get On Up.
