3. The Pursuit of Happiness
Will Smith was nominated for an Oscar for his role in the film adaptation of The Pursuit of Happiness. Smith played Chris Gardner, who at times was homeless and became wealthy through hard work at the stock markets. Smith was incredibly vulnerable and honest in this performance and it elevated him as an actor. The film also introduced the world to Jaden Smith, who played Smith’s son in the film.
