Top 10 'Parks and Recreation' episodes

10. End of the World

In one of the Parks episodes that intentionally mirrors real world events but taking them to the extreme of Pawnee, a cult called The Reasonabilists that worships the lizard god Zorp holds a vigil in the park, telling everyone the world will end that night. It’s a hilarious bit of Pawnee history as we find out more about this cult and their presence in the town, predicting the end of the world countless times before.

Tom and Jean-Ralphio decide blow the rest of their Entertainment 720 money on a giant end of the world party, and it’s both hilarious to see how far the two go and kind of satisfying to see Tom get to throw the big party he always wanted. Meanwhile April and Andy decide to do everything on Andy’s bucket list in case the world really is ending, which includes holding $1,000 in his hands, making the perfect grilled cheese sandwich and being an action star. In an ending that is pretty emotional and shows how perfect of a couple April and Andy are, the two take an impromptu trip to the Grand Canyon together. Meanwhile, Leslie has to come to terms with the fact that the romantic part of her relationship with Ben is over, which is kind of a downer but still a necessary part of their arc as characters. It’s an episode that both displays the weirdness of Pawnee and three of the best relationships on the show: April and Andy, Ben and Leslie, and Tom and Jean-Ralphio.
