2. Teleton
“Telethon” combines two of the things I love most about Parks and Recreation: the parks department team coming together to accomplish a task, and the weird citizens of Pawnee. In this episode Leslie and the whole department works a telethon to raise money for diabetes, with Leslie using the hilariously awful catchphrase “Diabetes: let’s dia-beat-this.” Again in an example of Leslie being overly enthusiastic to the point that it creates problems, she stays up for 24 hours before the telethon making t-shirts, so again she’s completely delirious due to exhaustion. Throughout the telethon we get to see Joan Callamezzo, Perd Hapley doing the worm, Barney giving a hilarious boring presentation on accounting software, and Jerry palying the piano beautifully only to be booted off the stage. It’s Parks and Recreation firing on all cylinders.
