7. 1950 was the year of All About Eve, but it was also the year of one of the most shocking Oscar wins in history. While Bette Davis should have finally won her third Best Actress Oscar for All About Eve, Anne Baxter infamously insisted that Fox submit her as a lead actress. The two cancelled each other out, which should have lead to Gloria Swanson winning for Sunset Boulevard. But that didn’t happen either!
