3. Morgan Freeman, The Shawshank Redemption
While there’s a very slim chance you missed The Shawshank Redemption, you might have forgotten that it didn’t win a single Oscar, despite being up for seven. Morgan Freeman somehow didn’t win for his role as Ellis Boyd “Red” Reddington. The bigger tragedy in my eyes: Tim Robbins wasn’t even nominated.
Freemen eventually won a Supporting Oscar for Million Dollar Baby, but come on... that was just a career achievement honor.
