While we know that TNT’s DC Comics series Titans will feature Nightwing, the rest of the superhero team’s roster has been a mystery. But that’s all changed now, since the list has leaked.
The Nerdist claims to have obtained the list of heroes Akiva Goldsman and Marc Haimes plan on featuring in the series. In addition to Nightwing - formerly Robin/Dick Grayson - the series will include Barbara Gordon, Hawk and Dove, Raven and Starfire.
Barbara Gordon was Batgirl for a time, but then became Oracle in the comics after the Joker shot her, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. After that, she dedicated herself to hacking to help Batman and other DC Comics heroes. The Nerdist claims that she’s referred to as Oracle in the pilot script.
Hawk and Dove were once a brother-and-sister duo, but after the brother died, he was replaced with a romantic interest for Dove. That newer incarnation could be the romantic couple for Titans.
Raven and Starfire are both longtime members of the group and anyone who has seen the recent Teen Titans cartoons will be familiar with them.
Oddly, Beast Boy and Cyborg - who were also both featured in the recent cartoons - are being left out. It’s possible that because of the Cyborg movie that DC might not want to cause confusion. (But that doesn’t quite hold water because we are getting a new Flash in the movies, while The CW’s The Flash is still on air.)
TNT was first linked to the Titans series in September and in December, DC confirmed that the pilot will be filmed this year.
