Ryan Gosling offered 'Beauty and the Beast' role, alongside Emma Watson (Report)

Ryan Gosling has notoriously tried to stay away from blockbusters, but that’s not stopping the studios from offering him roles. The latest job offer he’s received is reportedly Beauty and the Beast.

According to a report posted by Tracking-Board, Gosling was offered the Beast role in the live action movie. He would join Emma Watson, who confirmed herself last month that she will play Belle.

It’s worth noting that the report does come from a site that doesn’t have a perfect track record. Cinemablend points out that Tracking-Board was the same site that claimed Tina Fey was going to make a Hocus Pocus sequel. (That turned out to only be partly true, since Fey is working on a witchcraft movie of some kind at Disney.)

The other part of Tracking-Board’s report that is kind of interesting is that they say that the new Beauty and the Beast will be a musical, even including the songs from the 1991 animated classic. While Disney has never confirmed that, Watson did say write that “it almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to ‘Be Our Guest’ and sing 'Something There.’”

Beauty and the Beast will be directed by Bill Condon and written by The Perks of Being A Wallflower’s Stephen Chbosky. There’s no release date set.
