6. Chariots of Fire, Hugh Hudson, 1981
Even musicals win Best Picture for more than just their music. But Chariots of Fire probably only won just because of Vangelis’ iconic score. Otherwise, it’s just a dull, typical sports movie about underdogs. Again, it’s not terrible, it’s just.... what the heck? This is what beat Raiders of the Lost Ark!
