The Hills star Heidi Montag herself hasn’t commented on the serious charges her father, Bill Montag, is facing, but an insider says that she’s sure he is innocent.
Last week, Bill Montag, 67, was arrested in Aspen, Colorado on allegations that he sexually assaulted and committed incest with a girl between 1993 and 1998. The alleged abuse began when the girl was 13 and a criminal complaint suggested that it got worse as the girl grew older.
In total, the complaint claims that Montag assaulted the girl 50 times.
The name of the accuser was not listed in the complaint and it isn’t clear who she is. Heidi and her sister, Holly, were too young during that time.
Sources close to Heidi and her husband, Spencer Pratt, told TMZ last week that they know who the accuser is and believe that she isn’t telling the truth.
An insider told Us Weekly on Wednesday that the accuser is an “estranged family member with ulterior motives.”
“Heidi doesn't believe any of it,” the source told Us Weekly. “She grew up in that house and knows her father's character... and 100 percent believes all of the accusations are false.”
Montag is best known for starring on MTV’s The Hills and has appeared on other reality shows, including Celebrity Big Brother.
