After Gone Troppo flopped without making a noise, George retreated and many thought he might be done. But in 1987, he teamed up with ELO’s Jeff Lynne and exploded with Cloud Nine. The album features the hit single “Got My Mind Set On You,” which was actually written by Rudy Clark back in 1962.
Today, Cloud Nine sounds a bit dated, but George's writing is always top-notch when he’s on fire and he certainly was in 1987.
