After John Lennon’s death, Paul, Ringo Starr and George were practically obligated to pay tribute to him in song. George actually got Ringo and Paul to contribute to his song, the bubbly “All Those Years Ago.” Sure, George would pay better tribute to his Beatles days with “When We Was Fab,” but it’s still a cool song.
The rest of the album is filled with more cynical material. It starts off with the blistering “Blood From A Clone,” an indictment on the music industry, and ends with “Save The World,” a plea to keep the world from becoming a polluted wasteland. In between, there’s two Hoagy Carmichael covers and the lovely “Life Itself.”
