George turned to a funk sound for Thirty Three & 1/3, his first album on his own Dark Horse Records label. He woke up from the rut he was stuck in during the Dark Horse/Extra Texture period and started turning out hits again. The album features two hits, “This Song” and “Crackerbox Palace.”
