Happy Birthday George Harrison: Ranking His Solo Albums

Gone Troppo, 1982
highlights: “That’s The Way It Goes,” “Dream Away,” “Wake Up My Love”

There are some really strange Beatles solo albums if you dig deep enough and Gone Troppo is definitely one of them. It sounds like George just called up a bunch of friends, suggested they record some songs he had lying around and made a record.

The only song here that anyone should really know is “Dream Away,” which Terry Gilliam used as the end title song for Time Bandits. Other than that, there are some nice hidden cuts, like “That’s The Way It Goes” and the exuberant album opener “Wake Up My Love.”
