highlights: “Dark Horse,” “Far East Man,” “So Sad”
Someone should have told George that recording an album and going on tour while suffering from laryngitis is not a good idea. While Dark Horse’s material isn’t too bad, it certainly would have sounded better had he been completely healthy. The title track, “Far East Man” and “So Sad” are particular stand-outs on the nine-track record.
But the issue is that two of those nine tracks are complete throwaways. “Hari’s On Tour (Express)” is a weird instrumental opener and his cover of “Bye Bye Love” is a sad, too-personal jab at Eric Clapton for stealing his first wife, Patti.
