XBox designers, Oatmeal cartoonist create awesome Exploding Kittens card game

The Internet loves kittens, but it turns out that we love exploding kittens more. Two XBox designers and a cartoonist at The Oatmeal have just created a card game that brings exploding kittens, laser beams, enchiladas and goats together.

In the Exploding Kitten card game, players pick a card from the deck and, if they get an exploding kitten, they are automatically eliminated. However, if you have a diffuse card, you can save yourself by using a laser pointer, kitten therapy, catnip sandwiches and other items to stop it.

There are also attack cards, which can make another player take two turns, and skip cards. If you draw a unicorn enchilada (which is a thing in this game), you can even see the top three cards of the deck to see into the future.

Lastly, there are also cat cards, which, when collected together, have special powers.

Exploding Kittens was created by The Oatmeal’s Matthew Inman with XBox designers Elan Lee and Shane Small. They did launch a Kickstarter campaign and exploded past the $10,000 goal in an hour. At the moment, they have already raised $525,000 from 13,700 backers.
