1. North By Northwest, 1959
While Grant made a few more fun movies in the ‘60s before retiring in 1966, North By Northwest was the last time he took a really serious role with an iconic director, Alfred Hitchcock. It’s one of the greatest movies ever made (seriously... that’s a phrase used way too much, but it does actually apply here) and, like Notorious, is filled with erotic scenes between Grant and his leading lady. Not only is this the ultimate Hitchcock, but it’s also the ultimate Grant.
