'The Imitation Game,' 'Transparent,' 'How To Get Away with Murder' score GLAAD Awards nominations

GLAAD announced the nominees for their media awards, which go to the best media representations of the LGBT community. The group's GLAAD Media Awards recognizes everything from movies and music to television and journalism at ceremonies in New York and Los Angeles.

The Imitation Game, which features Benedict Cumberbatch’s Oscar-nominated performance as Alan Turing, is up for Outstanding Film - Wide Release. Its competition includes the British musical Pride, Love is Strange, The Skeleton Twins and Tammy.

Ten shows will be competing for Outstanding Drama, including Shonda Rhimes’ Grey’s Anatomy and How To Get Away with Murder. Game of Thrones also scored a nomination.

Nine shows are up for Outstanding Comedy, including Orange is the New Black and the two-time Golden Globe winner Transparent. Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Glee and ABC’s Modern Family were also nominated.

HBO’s The Normal Heart will win Outstanding TV Movie/Mini-Series by default. It was the only project nominated in the category.

General Hospital and Days of Our Lives were the only nominees for Outstanding Daily Drama.

The GLAAD Media Awards are on March 21 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles and May 9 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York.
