Tara Reid and Ian Ziering have found a new form of job security. Whenever SyFy and the B-Movie experts at Asylum need someone to be tormented by sharks, they get the call.
Both Reid and Ziering will be back for Sharknado 3, SyFy confirmed on Thursday. Entertainment Weekly reports that the network has also picked Anthony C. Ferrante to direct again and Thunder Levin is writing a “script.”
In April, SyFy ordered a third Sharknado three months before the second one (titled The Second One) aired. Then in October, the network confirmed that the third film will hit the entire East Coast, from Washington, D.C. to Orlando. Hopefully, the Secret Service can protect the President from flying sharks.
The original Sharknado was a huge hit with fans on Twitter and The Second One even got a wide audience for its first airing. It set a record for most viewers for a SyFy TV movie with 3.9 million viewers in July 2014.
Sharknado was set in Los Angeles, while The Second One ravaged New York. You can check out our interview with The Second One star Mark McGrath right here.
SyFy hasn't set an airdate for the third Sharknado.
