They aren’t exactly cash or corn dogs, but Ramen noodles still have the power to stop traffic. A truck carrying packages of Ramen noodles crashed in North Carolina, scattering the food along the highway early Wednesday.
The crash forced authorities to close all southbound lanes on I-95 near Rocky Mount, WRAL reports.
Troopers told WTVD-TV that the truck struck a bridge over the interstate, then broke apart.
The driver admitted to the ABC affiliate that he had nodded off and thought he could make it to the next truck stop.
“I thought I could make it down to the truck stops in Kenly, and I didn't quite make it. I kind of drowsed off, and next thing I knew I had taken out the guard rail,” the driver, Larry Scholting, said.
“(The) trucker ran off the road to the right, struck the bridge support, split in half," Trooper Kevin Heath added.
Scholting was not hurt, but the packages of noodles definitely were. Workers were called in to clean up the mess.
Of course, this is hardly the first time that food has spilled along a highway. Back in March 2014, there was corn dog spill in California. In Hong Kong last month, there was a cash spill.
