Quentin Tarantino’s ensemble Western The Hateful Eight has started production, leaving all those comments about never making it in the dust. He’s also added three more actors for the cast, which is already pretty big.
The Western’s headlining stars include Channing Tatum, Demian Bichir, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Jennifer Jason Leigh, WAlton Goggins, Kurt Russell, James Parks and Zoe Bell.
As principal photography started today, three more faces have been added. Django Unchained actors Lee Horsley, Craig Stark and Belina Owino joined the cast, notes The Hollywood Reporter.
Tarantino confirmed in July that he planned to make Hateful Eight as his follow-up to 2012’s Django. The film is set in the years after the Civil War, when a strange group of people are stuck in a stagecoach when a snowstorm strikes.
Exactly one year ago, Tarantino said that he would not make The Hateful Eight right away after the script leaked online. He even tried to sue Gawker for posting it. However, he calmed down in April after holding a live script reading at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
There is no set release date for the film, but the hope is to get it out before the end of 2015. Don’t be surprised if it’s in the running for Oscars or released on Christmas Day, a strategy that worked out well for Django.
