The latest edition of the Charlie Hedbo magazine cover features a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad.
RT noted that the first edition since last week’s massacre at the Parisian news offices, shows a picture of the Muhammad crying while holding a "Je Suis Charlie" sign.
The AFP reported that some French Muslim groups have asked the Muslim community for calm and to respect the freedom of opinion in light of the new cover.
"Stay calm and avoid emotive reactions that are incompatible with its dignity ... while respecting freedom of opinion," the French Council of the Muslim Religion and the Union of French Islamic Organizations said in a joint statement.
The demand for Wednesday’s edition is high and a record 3 million copies will be printed and published in several different languages.
This edition of course follows the attack where 12 people were killed when gunmen stormed the Charlie Hedbo offices last week. Those gunmen were later shot and killed by French authorities.
The magazine was said to be targeted because of earlier satirical depictions of the Prophet Muhammad.
