If you are scared about how Star Wars: The Force Awakens will turn out, don’t worry. Writer/director J.J. Abrams is terrified, too.
In an interview with MTV News at the National Board of Review awards gala in New York City earlier this week, Abrams spoke about what it was like to work on the most anticipated movie of the year.
“It is, without question, an intense and terrifying prospect,” Abrams told MTV. “The opportunity, I think, is greater than the fear, greater than the risk. I’m more excited about the work that everyone has done in the movie and the incredible cast.”
Abrams further explained that he and the rest of the crew were aware that they had to work really hard to make something that is “worthy of people’s time.”
Abrams was at the event to support Oscar Isaac, who stars in The Force Awakens as Poe Dameron. Isaac stars in J.C. Chandor’s A Most Violent Year, which the National Board of Review called the best film of 2014.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens on Dec. 18.
