The follow-up to Stieg Larsson’s Millennium crime trilogy, which includes the bestseller The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, will finally hit bookstores around the world in August.
The new book, titled That Which Does Not Kill, was first announced in December 2013 and was written by Swedish author David Lagercrantz. Larsson, who was also Swedish, died in 2004 from a heart attack, just after completing the trilogy.
Publisher Nordstedts said on Tuesday that the book will be released in at least 35 countries on Aug. 27, reports The Guardian. The announcement didn’t include a plot synopsis, but it will continue the story of Lisbeth Salander. It runs 500 pages in the original Swedish.
Larsson was reportedly hoping to write a total of seven books with Salander as the main character. Salander was first introduced in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, which was released in 2005. Since then, the trilogy has sold nearly 80 million copies worldwide.
The books were adapted into movies in Sweden, while Dragon Tattoo was remade by David Fincher in 2011. Noomi Rapace played Salander in the Swedish films, while Rooney Mara played the character for Fincher.
