John Stamos is still searching for a way to get back onto television and he may have found it. The former Full House star, who was recently seen in a guest role on ABC’s Galavant, will appear in a currently untitled Fox comedy pilot.
The project first landed at Fox in September 2014 and was written by Danny Chun. Stamos will play a ladies’ man who finds out that he is not only a father, but a grandfather too. All three get stuck living in the same house.
According to Variety, Stamos is on board to executive produce with Chun and Galavant’s Dan Fogelman. It is an ABC Studios production.
This is good news for Stamos, since his dreams for a Full House reunion haven’t come to fruition yet and ABC cancelled Members Only before it even aired.
In other Fox news, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that a Shameless-style dramedy called Studio City has landed a pilot order. Created by Krista Vernoff, the series comes from Warner Bros. TV and John Wells, who also executive produces the real Shameless. Vernoff also wrote episodes of that series.
Studio City will center on a young female singer who hopes to become a star, but is struggling to live with her songwriter/drug dealer father.
