Two more actors have joined CBS’ new Criminal Minds spinoff, including Emmy winner Anna Gunn. The potential series will also star Gary Sinise.
Earlier this week, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that Tyler James Williams, who starred on The Walking Dead as Noah, will star as a tech analyst for the Minds team. Williams was also seen on Everybody Hates Chris and NBc’s short-lived Go On.
On Thursday, Variety reported that Gunn, who is best known for playing Skyler White on Breaking Bad, will be the lead female team member.
Gunn was last seen on Fox’s limited series Gracepoint, a remake of the British series Broadchurch. Due to low ratings, it will not get a second season.
The new Criminal Minds spinoff will star Sinise (CSI: NY) as the leader of an FBI team that helps Americans in trouble abroad. The pilot will air as a regular Criminal Minds episode later this season.
CBS and ABC Studios, which produces the show, picked Criminal Minds showrunner Erica Messer to write the pilot. It’s the second time the network has tried to spinoff the long-running series, but that previous attempt was cancelled after one season.
