Weapons charges against rapper Young Jeezy have been dropped following his August arrest during Wiz Khalifa’s Under the Influence tour.

He was arrested during an investigation into 38-year-old Eric Johnson's shooting death backstage of the concert.

When law enforcement searched the tour bus, they found Jeezy was in possession of a rifle and he was charged with illegal possession of an assault weapon.

Both Jeezy and his lawyer, Blair Blerk, have issued statements about their disappointment on how the case was treated by law enforcement.

“I pray this had nothing to do with race but it definitely had nothing to do with evidence,” Jeezy said, MTV reports.

“Words cannot express how vindicated I feel with these charges being dismissed today. While my team and I always knew that the allegations and charges were based on zero facts, the rush to judgment by both the media and the police has been extremely disappointing.”

Blerk said in a statement that the rapper “should not have been arrested and this case should not have been prosecuted,” adding, “We are pleased it has been dismissed, although frustrated that it took the police and prosecutors months to do the right thing.”

Jeezy and Blerk claim the cops did not have the proper permits to search the tour bus. A source said Jeezy had permits for the weapons seized during the search and had been cleared by cops just two days prior to his arrest.
