More recently, in the second half of “Smash the Mirror,” Emma decides to get rid of her powers because she suddenly can’t seem to control them. Gold says he can help, but he really just wants to take possession of her powers, trapping her in the process. Hook figures out what’s going on and tries to warn Emma via phone. He gets her voice mail and leaves her a message professing his love for her, but it’s a message Emma will never hear, because Gold intercepted it. Even though this may not count as a moment between them, it does show how strongly he feels for her, and therefore should be counted.
