If anything could top Gone Girl in the “twisted” department, it’s Dan Gilroy’s Nightcrawler. Jake Gyllenhaal’s no-holds-barred performance is enough on its own to keep an audience on edge, but Gilroy directs with a kind of confidence most first-timers don’t have.
