10. A-Rod suspended for 162 games
In January, New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez was suspended for the entire 2014 season for his involvement in the Biogenesis scandal. A-Rod was originally handed a 211 game suspension, however, an independent arbitrator reduced that to 162 games. Still, the hefty suspension was the longest ever for a player in the history of Major League Baseball. Yankee officials have said they are not sure what to expect production-wise when the disgraced slugger does finally step back onto the field. But with spring training about 10 weeks away, the team will find out very soon.
