Grumpy Cat’s owner has made a fortune off of the phenomenon surrounding the scowling cat – precisely $99.5 million over a two-year span.
Tabatha Bundesen, 28, owns the famous, meme-worthy cat, whose real name is Tardar Sauce, and has really capitalized on her image.
“She’s unstoppable,” Bundesen told the UK’s Express. "What she’s achieved in such a short time is unimaginable and absolutely mind-blowing.”
She continued to say that she worked as a waitress before Grumpy Cat was discovered, but she was able to quit her job almost instantly.
“I was able to quit my job as a waitress within days of her first appearance on social media and the phone simply hasn’t stopped ringing since,” she explained.
To put it in perspective, Vox notes a list of celebrities who have made less than Grumpy Cat, such as Angelina Jolie and Kim Kardashian.
She has a film; Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever, as well as a book out and even her own brand of iced coffee called Grumppuccino.
