'Frozen' is top-selling movie on iTunes of 2014, 'Happy' is best-selling song

Apple announced the top-selling musicians and movies on its iTunes store and they should come as no surprise to anyone following the music world this year.

While no specific sales numbers were released, the top-selling album overall was the Frozen soundtrack. Unsurprisingly, the film also topped the best-selling movies list.

The rest of the iTunes Top 10 best-selling albums are Taylor Swift’s 1989; Coldplay’s Ghost Stories; Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour; Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1; Beyonce; Lorde’s Pure Heroine; X by Ed Sheeran; The Outsiders by Eric Church; and % Seconds of Summer.

Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” ended the year as the top-selling song, just beating John Legend’s “All of Me” and Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse.” Jason Derulo’s “Talk Dirty” and Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” rounded out the Top 5.

Frozen was the top-selling movie, coming in just ahead of The LEGO Movie. Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Neighbors were also in the Top 5.

Over on the TV side, the best-selling TV seasons were Game of Thrones Season 5, The Walking Dead Season 5, Downton Abbey Season 4, Breaking Bad’s final season and Scandal season 4.
