Five people were killed and several more were injured after a fire broke out at a senior-living facility just outside San Antonio on Sunday morning.
The Associated Press reported that city officials are still seeking the whereabouts of about 80 residents who have not been seen since the blaze at Wedgwood Senior Apartments in Castle Hills.
City Manager Diane Pfeil said that authorities have combed through the 11-story apartment complex and did not find any additional victims.
"It was mass confusion, needless to say, when the event occurred," Pfeil said.
The building is home to more than 200 hundred residents.
The Red Cross has a shelter in place for many of those that were displaced, while others were put up in hotels.
More than 100 firefighters responded to the massive three-alarm fire and the cause remains under investigation at this time.
WAOI noted that fire officials said the only other fire in the San Antonio area that was as large as this one was at Our Lady of the Lake University in 2008.
