Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 may soon have a new director. David Green of Earth to Echo fame is in talks to direct the sequel.
While Variety noted that while Paramount hasn’t officially commented, the publication’s sources have verified that Green will likely take the reins to the newly rebooted franchise. Reportedly, Paramount decided to search for a new director instead of stick with Jonathan Liebesman, the director of this past year’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film.
There aren’t any plot details currently known, nor have there been any casting announcements. Megan Fox and Will Arnett are expected to return, though.
Michael Bay and his partners at Platinum Dunes, Brad Fuller and Andrew From, will produce. Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec are writing the script and executive producing.
This year’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot grossed over $477 million worldwide, according to the Wrap. The film was one of Paramount’s biggest successes of the summer.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will be released on June 3, 2016.
