Bill Cosby has responded to the woman who filed a lawsuit Monday in Los Angeles against him, claiming that the comedian sexually assaulted her in 1974, when she was just 15. As his lawyers have before, Cosby denies the allegations.
Judy Huth, now 55, filed the lawsuit on Monday and claims that she was assaulted at a Playboy Mansion party in 1974. The suit was filed in Los angeles County Superior Court.
TMZ obtained Cosby’s legal documents filed in response. He claims that Huth’s lawyer approached Cosby’s, Martin Singer, to blackmail Cosby into paying her $100,000 to remain quiet. When more women came forward, Huth’s lawyer upped the price to $250,000.
The documents also state that Huth tried to sell her story to tabloids 10 years ago, but they refused to run it. Cosby says that this proves that she is lying when she says she had a repressed memory, which would allow her to file the suit four decades after the incident happened.
In addition, Cosby claims that Huth’s allegation that Cosby played a “drinking game” can’t be right because Cosby never drinks.
Cosby wants the lawsuit tossed and monetary sanctions.
In other Cosby news today, TMZ claimed that the LAPD is willing to investigate Huth’s claims. However, a department spokesperson told TheWrap that no criminal complaint has been filed. If one is, then they will begin an investigation.
Three more women came forward with allegations against Cosby on Wednesday during a press conference with Gloria Allred. The famed attorney had some suggestions for Cosby to do “what’s right.”
