The woman on the receiving end of a pay-out from Bill Cosby claims it was not hush money, instead an act of kindness. She’s speaking out after a former NBC employee, Frank Scotti, claims he sent money orders to women on behalf of the embattled Cosby Show star.
Scotti, now 90, said on Sunday, “I did a lot of crazy things for him.” He claimed he would send money to various women Cosby was sleeping with.
One of the women seen on the money orders Scotti released, Alva Chinn, told Today, “It is a shame that Dr. William Cosby’s generosity is being questioned and maligned.”
Chinn, who had appeared on The Cosby Show a handful of times, said Cosby was helping pay for her son to go to school.
She also said Scotti “could have asked me first before releasing these money orders.”
Eighteen women have now come forward to allege Cosby had either drugged and raped them or had been inappropriate with them. Some of the names on the money orders belong to women who have come forward to allege the sexual assault against him.
