U2’s Bono is thankfully doing fine after a door flew off his private jet while they were 15,000 feet in the air on Wednesday.
Bono, along with four other people, were traveling from from Dublin to Berlin on a Learjet 60 when the frightening incident occurred.
NBC News reports authorities say it happened while they were flying over Germany, with the rear door flying off its hinges.
The pilots have told authorities they didn’t even know what had happened until they safely landed the plane. They felt activity that was similar to turbulence but didn’t feel any pressure when the door flew off.
E! Online reports the door is missing, as well as two suitcases that flew away with it.
Germout Freitag, a spokesman for the German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation, said "The aircraft and its rear door are painted black, so the search in the wooded area will be difficult.”
No damage has been done to the aircraft. U2 is in Berlin for Thursday’s 2014 BAMBI Awards.
