Pippa Middleton, the younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, has reportedly been in negotiations with NBC about a possible correspondent role within the network.
Middleton has already done a test run to see if she’s a good fit for the job during a visit to Utah. Interest in the youngest Middleton sibling first came about after her interview with Matt Lauer on Today in June.
’Today’ has been doing a test piece with Pippa in Utah, and if it works out well — and it looks like it will — they will hire her as a correspondent,” a source told Page Six.
Her role won’t be focused on the royals, rather she will be involved with segments centered on health and lifestyle.
“NBC, along with all the major networks, has been trying to sign Pippa for some time,” an insider has also said. She has also reportedly been approached by ABC.
People reports Middleton could be paid as much as $650,000 for her new gig.
Middleton would be following in the footsteps of the late Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, being hired in a similar role in the ‘80s.
Her appearance as a bridesmaid at her sister’s wedding in 2011 really made her a household name, with little being known about her before that.
